After several incidents north of point lowly the tower was extended to its current height of 22 8 metres in 1909.
A wonderful old well cared for lighthouse which still shines its guiding light at night protecting the local fishermen and women from the treacherous rocks lurking just under the water. It was first lit on 1 february 1883.
