Pc Ethernet Port Not Lighting Up
Works on the laptop just not the pc even the led on the laptop light up.
Pc ethernet port not lighting up. When looking at the motherboard there are 2 other usb ports beneath the ethernet port. Different ethernet cable different port on your router use the ethernet cable directly from modem to your pc if you have a stand. If i unplug the same cable and plug it into my pc s ethernet port the modem s ethernet port lights up green but my pc s ethernet leds are off and there is no access to the internet. If the lights on the network interface are not lighting up at either end router switch and pc and you have it plugged in correctly it could easily be the cable.

If you have another cable you know is working properly try it. I have a usb wi fi adapter but i lose about 40 speed that s why i got the cable. If you plug the ethernet cable into the laptop and turn off wifi does the internet work on that. The modem s ethernet port 1 lights up green and i can browse with no hiccups.
If the 2 usb ports work maybe a quick call to asus support might clear up if there is a known issue with the ethernet port.
